Story Type: Food quality Issue

My Story:

Mother of 3 young children - 4, 2, and a 10 month old. We have to take cabs, walk or ride a bus. There are no grocery stores nearby that have fresh fruits and veggies to buy at reasonable prices.  This Grocery Story was collected at the Edgehill Food Awareness Cookout on August 31, 2010.  The event was hosted by Edgehill Food Now!, a collaboration between the Edgehill Family Resource Center, Organized Neighbors of Edgehill and Re/Storing Nashville.

Restoring Nashville is a faith-based movement for food justice in Nashville advocating for increased access to affordable healthy food for all of Nashville. Re/Storing Nashville is a program of Community Food Advocates. Support for this project was provided by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The Community Food Advocates brings people together to create and sustain a secure and healthy food system for their region, from production to consumption.
